The full list of key dates for next year’s British Academy Television Awards and British Academy Television Craft Awards and the updated Rules and Guidelines for 2016/17 have been announced.

The British Academy Television Craft Awards will take place on Sunday 23 April 2017 (nominations announced live online, 28 March), followed by the British Academy Television Awards on Sunday 14 May (nominations announced live at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly, 11 April). The awards are presented annually to recognise and honour individuals for outstanding achievement in television, celebrating the very best programmes, performances and behind-the-scenes talent in television.

Friday 2 December – First stage entry for Television and Craft Awards closes for all programmes broadcast up to 30 November

Monday 9 January – Final deadline for all entries

Monday 13 February – Voting opens at 13.00

Thursday 23 February – Closing of voting site

Friday 3 March – Deadline for broadcaster entries

Wednesday 8 March – Craft round 2 chapter voting starts

Wednesday 22 March – Deadline for Craft R2 chapter voting

Tuesday 28 March – British Academy Television Craft Awards nominations announced

Tuesday 11 April – Television Awards Nominations announced – live press conference at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly

Tuesday 18 April – Craft R3 closes

Thursday 20 April – Joint Television and Craft nominees party

Sunday 23 April – British Academy Television Craft Awards
