Watch upcoming Games Sessions as nominees from Performer in a Leading Role and Best British categories and others take you behind the scenes ahead of BAFTA Games Awards

The BAFTA Games Awards are fast approaching on Thursday 7 April, and leading up to the awards ceremony BAFTA is commemorating them with BAFTA Games Sessions, a programme of events that showcases behind the scenes of some of the biggest and best games of the year and, most importantly, celebrates the joy of play.

The Games Sessions feature talent that made some of the games that are nominated for the 2022 BAFTA Games Awards. Tune in as BAFTA and nominees discuss and explore the fascinating stories behind these outstanding games.

BAFTA GAMES SESSION: MINDFUL GAMING

BAFTA GAMES SESSION: BEST OF BRITISH

BAFTA sits down with some of the smaller studio developers nominated for Best British Game to discuss how they’re able to deliver special and successful game experiences that stand alongside titles released by much bigger teams. Find out more here.

Also be sure to watch the inaugural BAFTA Games Challenge in collaboration with Black Twitch UK on Thursday 31 March from 14:00-16:30 BST exclusively via twitch.tv/bafta. Two teams of six women from Black Twitch UK compete in a series of challenges from half a dozen BAFTA-nominated games, playing them in ways they were never intended in light competition, offbeat humour and audience engaging chat.

BAFTA 195 Piccadilly will host the Nominees Party the evening prior to the BAFTA Games Awards on Wednesday 6 April, giving nominees, BAFTA members and industry associates the opportunity to celebrate together and reflect on some of the best games of 2021.

The 2022 BAFTA Games Awards will take place on Thursday 7 April at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London and will be broadcast live via twitch.tv/bafta from 19:00 BST.
