Today, BAFTA unveils the attending nominees and presenters and special tributes for the EE BAFTA Film Awards this Sunday, celebrating the ingenuity and creativity of film, and the people who bring them to life on both sides of the screen. The EE BAFTAs will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 19:00-21:00 and streamed globally.

Last year’s EE Rising Star Award winner Lashana Lynch returns to present the award to this year’s winner. The nominees are Aimee Lou Wood, Daryl McCormack, Emma Mackey, Naomi Ackie and Sheila Atim. It is the only award voted for by the British public and is presented annually to a performer who has demonstrated exceptional talent early in their careers.
LIVE broadcast categories and Special Tributes
- For the first time, the final four category winners will be announced live on BBC One, enabling audiences at home to be part of the excitement as it happens. The four categories (revealed today) will be, EE Rising Star, Leading Actor, Leading Actress and Best Film.
- A tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is to be led by BAFTA Fellow Dame Helen Mirren. The Queen occupies a unique place in BAFTA’s history, a close association that spanned 50 years. Through her various patronages, The Queen was renowned for her support of the UK’s creative industries. - This year’s BAFTA Fellowship will be awarded to costume designer Sandy Powell. It is the highest accolade bestowed by BAFTA upon an individual in recognition of an outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, games or television. As previously announced here.
As previously announced, Mercury Prize-winning artist Little Simz will take to the Royal Festival Hall’s stage during the ceremony to perform a track from her album “NO THANK YOU”. The pioneering Hip Hop artist and actress who starred in Top Boy and has collected MOBO, Ivor Novello and BRIT awards.
Richard E. Grant will host the ceremony, and Alison Hammond will host a new BAFTA Studio overlooking the Thames from the Royal Festival Hall – in an expanded broadcast format to give viewers at home an Access-All-Areas experience. The legendary red carpet will be hosted by film critic Ali Plumb and presenter Vick Hope on @BAFTA giving audiences an exclusive front row seat to the arrivals.
The EE BAFTA Film Awards will take place at London’s Royal Festival Hall and will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7:00pm GMT on Sunday 19 February, and will stream globally.
