William Hurt

An American actor, who starred in a series of celebrated films in the 1980s, from his feature film debut in Altered States (1980) through to The Accidental Tourist (1988). In between, he won a BAFTA and Oscar for his performance in Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985), adding two Oscar nominations for Children of a Lesser God (1986) and Broadcast News (1987). Another Academy Award nomination came with his supporting role in A History of Violence (2005). He was twice an Emmy nominee for Damages (2007) and Too Big to Fall (2011). He starred in many more popular films and television shows, including in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in five films as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross.
