An American screenwriter who was amongst the most successful and influential in Hollywood, Goldman also penned the bestselling memoir/writing manual Adventures in the Screen Trade (1983). He won a BAFTA for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) and received a further nomination for All the President’s Men (1976).
