Vicente Aranda

A Spanish director famed for his literary adaptations, Aranda’s films tended to focus on themes of the postwar state of his nation and eroticism. His best known works included Cambio de Sexo (1976), Amantes (1991) and Carmen (2003), and he received a Palme d’Or nomination for El Lute II: Tomorrow I’ll Be Free (1988).
