A co-creator of police series Z-Cars (1962-78), Kennedy Martin went on to even greater success writing The Italian Job (1969). His other feature screenplays include Kelly’s Heroes (1970) and Sweeney 2 (1978) with acclaimed work for television including the series Reilly: Ace of Spies (1983) and Edge of Darkness (1986).
