Tony Warren MBE

A British writer who launched the world’s longest-running television serial when he created Coronation Street in 1960, Warren’s Manchester-based soap opera was still airing continuously and closing in on 9000 episodes at the time of his passing in 2016. Her remained a consultant on the show throughout his life and also found success as a novelist.
