An American producer, director and screenwriter who was best known for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), Hooper’s film was one of the most notorious and influential horror movies ever made. He also notably directed Salem’s Lot (1979), The Funhouse (1981) and Poltergeist (1982).
