Terrence Hardiman

A British actor, whose career spanned 50-plus years and more than 100 screen credits. A graduate of Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, where he served as president of Cambridge University’s am-dram club, Terrence Hardiman will probably be best remembered for two roles in particular. The first, as barrister Stephen Harvesty in ITV drama Crown Court (1972-1983), and then as the titular The Demon Headmaster (1996-1998) in the popular BBC children’s drama. Other notable roles included Softly Softly: Task Force (1971), Secret Army (1979), My Father’s House (1981), Wish Me Luck (1990), Cadfael (1994-1998), The Worst Witch (1998-2001), The Crown (2017) and many guest spots and one-off supporting roles. His film roles included Loophole (1981), Gandhi (1982) and Fishtales (2007).
