A British writer and novelist, of Jamaican descent, who won a BAFTA in 2021 for Single Drama for Sitting in Limbo (2020), for which he was also nominated in the Emerging Talent: Fiction category. He wrote the feature-length drama in response to his brother’s fight against deportation during the Windrush scandal. Thompson’s first novel, Toy Soldiers, was published in 2000. He was also editor and publisher of The Colverstone Review and lectured at various British universities.
