A British documentary filmmaker, who was one of the first women directors working in the form for British television. Stacy Marking directed such documentaries as Housing – After the Rent Act (1967), How Wars End (1985) and A Beginner’s Guide to Freud (1989) and helped launch the Today’s History series for Channel 4 in 1982. She also taught film at St Martin’s and Goldsmiths, and wrote for various print publications including the Guardian, Sunday Times, Vogue and Time Out.
