An Indian actress who became one of Bollywood’s brightest stars in the 1980s, Sridevi demonstrated remarkable versatility from playing a half-woman, half-snake seductress in Nagina (1986) to an undercover journalist-cum-cabaret dancer in Mr India (1987). She amassed over 300 credits during her career and also notably starred in Chanfni (1989) and English Vinglish (2012).
