A British director, broadcaster and writer who was considered a polymath and one of the great British satirists, Miller came to prominence in 1961 alongside Peter Cook, Dudley Moore and Alan Bennett with Beyond the Fringe. His eclectic screen work included Alice in Wonderland (1966), The Body in Question (1978-1979) and the BBC’s Shakespeare Series (1979-1981).
