A German casting director, who helped cast hundreds of actors for television and film. Much of Simone Bär’s work as casting director was on German productions, such as the series Berlin, Berlin (2002-2004), Der Kriminalist (2007-2020), Dark (2017-2020) and Babylon Berlin (2017-2020) and such internationally recognised films as Good Bye Lenin! (2003), The Lives of Others (2006) and The White Ribbon (2009). However, she did work as the casting director for English language productions too, including Charlie’s Angels (2019) and Cloud Atlas (2012). She also helped cast German talent for such films as Inglourious Basterds (2009), War Horse (2011), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), The Matrix Resurrections (2021) and Tár (2022). She was nominated for a BAFTA for her work casting All Quiet on the Western Front (2022).
