A South Korean actor considered to be one of the central figures in Korean film history, Shin remarkably appeared in over a quarter of the movies (324 in total) that showed in the country between 1964 and 1971. He found stardom in Romantic Papa (1960) and his other notable credits included Only For You (1962) and The Eunuch (1968).
