A South African-born actress who found success on the stage, screen and radio, Steafel established herself as a comic force on the television with The Frost Report (1966-1967). She went on to roles in sitcoms including How’s Your Father (1974-1975), The Ghosts of Motley Hall (1976-1978) and You Must Be the Husband (1987-1988).
