An American producer who set up his own independent production company following the death of his successful father, Goldwyn brought quality foreign films to the US and backed independent films and young filmmakers. He produced The Golden Seal (1983) and Mystic Pizza (1988), and received a BAFTA nomination for Master and Commander (2003).
