Ruthie Tompson

An American animator, who may be unfamiliar to most but was considered a legend by other animators. She started working with Walt Disney in the 1920s in her teens, and spent the next 40 years at the company, working on virtually every animated film during that era until her retirement in 1975. This included Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Bambi (1942), Sleeping Beauty (1959), Mary Poppins (1964) and The Rescuers (1977). Later, she did work on a number of other projects including Ralph Bakshi’s The Lord of the Rings movie (1978).
