A British illustrator, who was a groundbreaking artist in fantasy roleplay games, in particular creating artwork for Games Workshop, White Dwarf, Warhammer 40,000, Advanced D&D and Fiend Folio. Russ Nicholson also illustrated several of the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, including the iconic cover art for The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (1982). His art featured in various video game adaptations, including The Warlock of Firetop Mountain adaptation for the ZX Spectrum (1984) and Fabled Lands (2010) for Windows, and inspired many others.
