An American actor best known for a pair of roles playing an empathetic and trusted confidante, Cathey starred as political operative Norman Wilson on The Wire (2006-2008) and won an Emmy for his role as Freddy Hayes on House of Cards (2013-2016). On the big screen he memorably starred in Tank Girl (1995) and American Psycho (2000).
