A British cameraman who joined Thames Television as a trainee in 1968, Gearing worked his way up to a Senior Cameraman position and went on to work as Studio Manager at Teddington Studios. His television credits included The Bill (1989-1990), Is It Legal? (1995-1996) and My Hero (2000-2006).
