An American producer best known for his producing partnership with Tony Thomas, Witt and Thomas brought comedies including Soap (1977-1981), Benson (1979-1986) and The Golden Girls (1985-1992) to the small screen. He also produced films including Three Kings (1999) and Insomnia (2002), and the BAFTA Best Film winner Dead Poets Society (1989).
