Paul Hitchcock

A British producer, who worked in various production roles across a career spanning 40-plus years. Paul Hitchcock served his apprenticeship at Pinewood Studios in the budgeting department, before joining United Artists as a production executive. In 1966, he became head of production at Paramount before three years later moving to Warner Bros to fulfil the same role until 1992. His film credits during this time included Khartoum (1966), Barbarella, If.... (both 1968), Oh! What a Lovely War, The Italian Job (both 1969), Waterloo (1970), A Clockwork Orange (1970), Barry Lyndon (1975) The Shining (1980), Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984), Full Metal Jacket, Empire of the Sun (both 1987) and Batman (1989). He left to go independent and produced such films as Mission: Impossible I and II (1996, 2000), The Saint (1997), The Phantom of the Opera (2004) and Fred Claus (2007).
