An American composer who scored over 50 films including Used Cars (1980) and Cry Baby (1990), Williams was also prolific on the small screen on shows such as Columbo (1977-1992) and Lou Grant (1977-1982). He won four Emmys, two Grammys, and received an Oscar nomination for his work on Breaking Away (1979).
