A British production designer who began his career as an assistant designer at the Theatre Royal in Northampton, Bayldon joined the BBC Scenic Design Department, where he spent most of his career. He received BAFTA nominations for his work on The Onedin Line (1971) and When the Boat Comes In (1976), winning for Memento Mori (1992).
