A British production designer and art director, who won a BAFTA for his work on Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and was nominated three other times for Star Wars – Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Star Wars – Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983) and Empire of the Sun (1987). Norman Reynolds was Oscar nominated for all of these films, winning for Raiders, adding to the Oscar he had already won for Star Wars – Episode IV: A New Hope (1977). Other notable film work included Phase IV (1974), Superman I and II (1978, 1981), Return to Oz, Young Sherlock Holmes (both 1985), Alien 3 (1992), Alive (1993), Mission: Impossible (1996), Sphere (1998) and Bicentennial Man (1999).
