A French actress, who predominantly worked in French cinema, particularly comedies, but did also appear in some English language films. Mylène Demongeot was nominated for BAFTA’s Most Promising Newcomer award in 1958 for her memorable role in Les Sorcières de Salem (The Crucible, 1957), but she is perhaps best known as Milady de Winter in The Three Musketeers and Vengeance of the Three Musketeers (both 1961). Other notable films include Bonjour Tristesse (1958), Doctor in Distress (1963), the Fantômas trilogy (1964, 1965, 1967), 36 Quai des Orfèvres (36th Precinct, 2004) and the Camping trilogy (2006, 2010, 2016). Her last credit was for social satire Retirement Home (2022).
