Alasdair Milne

Best remembered as BBC Director-General during a turbulent period, Milne served in the post from 1982 to 1987. He was an experienced producer, having been involved in successes including news magazine Tonight (1957-65), groundbreaking satirical show That Was The Week That Was (1962) and documentary series The Great War (1964).
