A Japanese colour designer who was the head of Studio Ghibli's colour department since its inception, Yasuda's meticulous work was vital when it came to bringing characters and worlds to vibrant life. Her credits included My Neighbor Totoro (1988) and Spirited Away (2001), and despite retiring in 2008 returned to work on The Wind Rises (2013).
