A British producer who was best known for his socially and politically relevant dramas, Wearing’s work included Our Friends in the North (1996) and Human Traffic (1999). He was nominated for five BAFTAs, winning for Boys from the Blackstuff (1982) and Edge of Darkness (1985), and also received the Alan Clarke Award in 1997.
