A British actor, who was nominated for a BAFTA in 1971 jointly for his performances in three television productions, namely The Hero of My Life.... Charles Dickens, The Wednesday Play’s ‘Mad Jack’ and Biography’s episode ‘Beethoven’ (all 1970). Michael Jayston is also known for his film roles in A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream (1968), Cromwell (1970), Nicholas and Alexandra (1971), The Homecoming (1973) and Zulu Dawn (1979), and his small screen roles in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979), Doctor Who (1986), A Bit of a Do (1989), Cluedo (1991) and Emmerdale Farm (2007-2008), among many others.
