An American cinematographer who began his career as a camera operator on films including The Godfather (1972) and Jaws (1975), Chapman was best known for shooting films including Taxi Driver (1976) and Raging Bull (1980) for director Martin Scorsese. His also notably shot The Last Detail (1973) and The Fugitive (1993), and directed All the Right Moves (1983).
