Meg Johnson

A British actress, who was a familiar face on UK screens due to regular roles in British soap operas Coronation Street (1972-1999), Brookside (2000-2003) and, in particular, Emmerdale (2003-2020). Meg Johnson started out performing in repertory theatres and operatic societies in the north of England, before turning professional in 1971. Although she had made several appearances on British television in the early 1970s (including appearing on talent show New Faces, 1974), her first major role was in sitcom Yanks Go Home (1976-1977). Other notable television roles included Empire Road (1978-1979), The Good Companions (1980), Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV (1985-1987), Victoria Wood (1989) and guest spots in the likes of Taggart, Lovejoy (both 1993) and Peak Practice (2000).
