A British presenter, broadcaster and writer, who was given an Outstanding Contribution to Television special award from BAFTA Cymru in 2018. After working as an advertising copywriter, Nicholson came into the industry quite late on in life, joining weekly daytime magazine programme Tea Break in 1971 when in her 40s. Throughout the following decade, she forged a memorable career co-hosting on Good Afternoon, Afternoon Plus and A Plus 4. Nicholson then helmed her own interview series, Mavis on Four (1986-1988), following this with Mavis Catches Up... (1989-1990), In With Mavis (1991) and Moment of Crisis (1993).
