A British television producer, who had some notable drama and comedy hits in the 1980s and 1990s having previously worked in commercials and factual programming. The standout was as series producer on the first and second seasons of Franc Roddam’s Auf Wiedersehen, Pet (1983-1984), which earned him two BAFTA nominations. McKeand also went on to produce the first two seasons of Spender (1991-1992), working with Jimmy Nail again and adding another BAFTA nomination, as well as sitcom Full Stretch and the first season of Michael Elphick drama Harry (both 1993).
