An American producer who began his career as a personal manager for stars including Barbra Streisand and Al Pacino, Bregman moved into producing with Serpico (1973) and Dog Day Afternoon (1975) and soon became known for his crime dramas. His other notable credits included Scarface (1983), Carlito’s Way (1993) and Matilda (1996).
