A popular performer in Italian light comedies of the immediate post-war period, Merlini’s best-known film was Pane, Amore E Fantasia (1953), which spawned several sequels beginning with Pane, Amore E Gelosia (1954). She also starred in seven films with comedy star Toto, the highlight being L’Imperatore Di Capri (1949).
