A Japanese animator who worked on all of Hayao Miyazaki's films and fourteen of Studio Ghibli's nineteen animated features in total, Futaki's work with the studio spanned Castle in the Sky (1986) to The Wind Rises (2013). She was also notably a key animator on the cult manga adaptation Akira (1988).
