Leon Vitali

A British actor, who made various appearances on British television in the 1970s in the likes of Z Cars (1971), Please Sir! (1971), Follyfoot (1973) and as a regular on The Fenn Street Gang (1971-1972). Vitali effectively retired from acting in 1975 after featuring prominently in Stanley Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon, taking on the role of the director’s assistant on his following films, including helping with casting, archiving and general administrative duties. The importance of his role in the making of Kubrick’s films and the director’s legacy came to light in the documentary Filmworker (2017).
