An American production designer who helped create the distinctive look of sci-fi classic Blade Runner (1982), Paull won a BAFTA for his groundbreaking and influential work on the dystopian genre classic. He also worked on Romancing the Stone (1984) and received a further BAFTA nomination for his work on Back to the Future (1985).
