Kurt Luedtke

An American screenwriter who began his career as a journalist and became executive editor of the Detroit Free Press, Luedtke quit journalism to pursue a career in film in 1978. He won a BAFTA for his work on Out of Africa (1985), and also wrote Absence of Malice (1981) and Random Hearts (1999) for director Sydney Pollack.
