A Polish composer and conductor who was a key figure in musical modernism in the 1960s, Penderecki’s work was often grounded by choral and orchestral sounds. His music appeared on films and TV series such as The Exorcist (1973), The Shining (1980), Children of Men (2006) and Twin Peaks: The Return (2017).
