Kirstie Alley

An American actress, who is best known for her role on US sitcom Cheers (1987-1993), which earned her an Emmy and Golden Globe in 1991 and four other Emmy nominations. Kirstie Alley first came to prominence as Saavik in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), landing further big screen parts in Runaway (1984), the Look Who’s Talking trilogy (1989-1993), Village of the Damned (1995), Deconstructing Harry (1997) and Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). But it was on US television that she forged her career, with the likes of Cheers, North and South (1985-1986), Fat Actress (2005) and Kirstie (2013-2014). She won a second Emmy for TV movie David’s Mother (1994) and two further nominations for Veronica’s Closet (1997-2000) and The Last Don (1997).
