A British visual effects artist who specialised in modelling and sculpture, Short sculpted countless iconic props and sets for the big screen after getting his break working on Alien (1979). His work notably included the cobra in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), the Emperor’s throne in Return of the Jedi (1984) and the Batmobile in Batman (1989).
