An American actress best known for her role in Little House on the Prairie (1974-1983), McGregor played the mean-spirited and condescending Mrs Oleson in over 150 episodes of the show. Before getting her big break, her career had been limited to small parts including an uncredited role in On the Waterfront (1954).
