A British actor best known for his portrayal of the iconic Mike Baldwin on Coronation Street (1979-2006). After a run of uncredited television appearances in the 1950s, Briggs became more familiar in the 1960s, with prominent roles in The Younger Generation (1961) and No Hiding Place (1962-66). He starred in Crossroads (1972-1974) before landing his best known character, who he would play for 30 years.
