An Australian producer and actor, who is best known for his partnership with fellow countryman and comic actor Paul Hogan. Initially a print journalist, Cornell became a producer for news programme A Current Affair in 1971, where he first met Hogan. Together they created The Paul Hogan Show, in which Cornell also appeared on screen. He also produced and co-wrote Crocodile Dundee (1986) and its sequel (1988), the original earning him both a BAFTA and Oscar nomination.
