A British actor, writer and satirist, who was a double BAFTA winner for Light Entertainment in 1966 and Light Entertainment Performance in 1997, jointly for Rory Bremner, Who Else? and The Long Johns (1995). His first nomination was for Light Entertainment Performance in 1965 for Not So Much a Programme, More a Way of Life (1964-1965), earning further nominations for Rory Bremner, Who Else? (1993-1998) in 1999 and three for Bremner, Bird and Fortune (1999-2007) in 2000, 2002 and 2003. Elsewhere, he appeared in various shows, including Armchair Thriller (1980), Yes, Prime Minister (1988), A Very Peculiar Practice (1986), Inspector Morse (1990), One Foot in the Grave (1995) and Jonathan Creek (2000-2014), among many others. He occasionally appeared on the big screen with the likes of Jabberwocky (1977) and A Fish Called Wanda (1988).
