John Barton

A British director and writer who was best known for his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Barton joined as Associate Director in 1960 and became the longest-serving company member. As well as many of his productions such as The War of the Roses (1965-1979) being televised, he also presented Playing Shakespeare (1982).
